In all my years of ignoring the Grammys, I never once realised that award winners are eligible to take part in the following year's voting. That is, until I saw last week's episode of The Colbert Report, hosted by 2010 Grammy winner Stephen Colbert (does that mean T-Pain also has a vote this year? The mind reels... In this clip, funnyman Colbert needs help choosing a winner for Best Alternative Music Album, so he invites nominees The Black Keys and Vampire Weekend on the show for a Sell-Out Off, because, as he puts it; "The only way to tell which band has more edgy, non-commercial appeal is to see which band got their songs in more commercials. Bizarrely, it escalates into an Indie-Dude fight to the death, with Ezra Koenig threatening to bash Patrick Carney's ironic glasses through his skull. Watch it here.
