The Ring

Listening to the title-track from soul maestro Jamie Lidell's upcoming album Compass, our suspicion was that he'd moved in a more experimental direction. While 'The Ring' is not without its moments of oddball warp (is that trumpet having a seizure?), it also sees the young Brit revert to bone-shaking skyscraper soul. The result? A little bit of Stevie Wonder and a 'Little Bit Of Feel Good', all in one tune.
