The psychedelic sounds of the sonic cathedral: A tribute to Roky Erickson and the 13th floor elevators
Criminally under-rated psychedelic songwriter gets to the tribute album treatment
A pretty straightforward tribute to acid rock trail-blazer Roky Erickson, The Psychedelic Sounds… serves as a timely reminder of just how good some of those 13th Floor Elevators songs really were. Featuring a who’s-who of also-rans (A Place To Bury Strangers, Darker My Love and Dead Meadow) the record is a faithful representation of his past work. While not essential listening, the completeists will love it.
