Yet another Irish-only selection of downloadables and YouTubeables this week, inspired by the conclusion that homegrown musical fodder is far superior to anything being released on the international online stage (except for perhaps the Beastie Boys' 30-minute mini-epic A Tale Of Sound And Fury, which the lovely Mr. Stuart Clark has conveniently previewed in Caught In The Net). We begin with the esteemed Mr. Conor J. O'Brien, who is currently crooning pretty with his fourth single from the Mercury-nominated Becoming A Jackal. Possibly the jolliest number on his 11-track debut, 'The Pact' is accompanied by a simple but lovely performance video, directed by longtime Villagers collaborator Myles O'Reilly.
