The only fact we know
No word as to what happened or why, but as of this evening The Charlatans are no longer playing Slane
Despite being unveiled last week as "special guests", hotpress.com has learned that The Charlatans are not Slane-bound.
Confirming this, MCD's Justin Green states: "I can tell you at this time that after a new development, the band will not be playing Slane."
It became apparent that all was not well when the Mancunians' website announced that: "The Charlatans are not confirmed for Slane in August. Please do not buy tickets for the event under the impression that we are. Any press advertisements or reports from other sources including the band are incorrect."
On a rather more positive note, Tim Burgess & Co. have announced details of their Live It Like You Love It album.
Due on July 22nd, the set is culled from their December 2001 show at the Manchester Evening News Centre and features 'Love Is The Key', 'Judas', 'Tellin' Stories', 'A Man Needs To Be Told', 'One To Another', 'The Only One I Know', 'Impossible', 'North Country Boy', 'You're So Pretty – We're So Pretty', 'Weirdo', 'How High', 'Forever', 'If I Fall' and 'Sproston Green'.
