A glorious mix of T-Rex, The Sweet, Norman Greenbaum and the often-overlooked, criminally underrated work of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, ‘Cherry Bomb’ is an explosive 200 seconds of music. Super cool, sexy and assured, the cooed chorus, sweeping strings and the hook during the verse all make this a monster of a track. If the rest of the May-released debut Live Well, Change Often sounds like this, then I’ve no doubt it’ll be one of the albums of the year.
