The K9 Sessions (Free mp3)

Some of Ireland's finest young musical pups have passed through Shane Cullen's Deansgrange studio over the last 12 months to take part in the K9 Sessions, which are broadcast on Phantom's show I-CON with Cathal Funge every Wednesday's eve (from 10pm – midnight). Now available for free download from the Phantom website, these sublimely put-together sessions are just another reminder of what a wonderful epoch (tréimhse?) Irish music is going through as I type these words. Already up for grabs are exclusive tracks from Yes Cadets, Dark Room Notes, Funeral Suits and The Cast Of Cheers while the coming weeks will see Cathal and Co. release numbers from Strait Laces, Heathers, The Dead Flags, New Amusement and LaFaro. Squarehead's cover of the Everly Brothers' 'Cathy’s Clown' is a personal fave but at the risk of sounding like those little slips you get inside a Kinder Egg, why not collect them all?
