The Human Condition [music video]
My inexplicable hatred of nicknames that recall famous gorillas and rabid love for Ballymun crooner Willa Lee suggest that I was going to have a tough time making up my mind about ‘The Human Condition’, but a melodic, meandering hook and some impassioned rhymes have tempted me down from the fence. Helmed by underground producer Jackknife-J, the first outing from Dubliner Jambo’s Intervention is hardly the first socially-conscious moment in Irish rap, but even if the accompanying music video trots out every inner city cliché in the book, it’s hard to argue with a piece of hip hop this slick.
