The Great Escape festival is cancelled amid COVID-19 fears
Fontaines D.C., Somebody's Child, Malaki, Sinéad O'Brien, Junior Brother and Soda Blonde were among the Irish acts lined up to play the Brighton festival.
Following several other high profile cancellations, including Glastonbury and Coachella, it has been announced today, March 19, that The Great Escape will no longer go ahead.
The annual festival, which was due to take place from May 13-16 in Brighton, is one of the biggest A&R showcase events of the year – with a line-up that includes hundreds of emerging artists from across the world.
Irish artists set to perform at The Great Escape this year included Fontaines D.C., Alex Gough, Junior Brother, Lyra, Malaki, Melts, Kynsy, Ryan McMullan, Conchúr White, April, Sinead O'Brien, Beauty Sleep, Silverbacks, Soda Blonde, Somebody's Child, The Scratch and Toshin.
Support Irish musicians through this difficult time by purchasing their records, digital albums and merch.
