Metalcore leaders Architects announce tenth studio album and share new single ‘Tear Gas’
The modern day metal heroes are back with their tenth studio album, a new single and a fall tour supporting Biffy Clyro.
Architects have announced their forthcoming album, The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit, set for release on October 21 via Epitaph Records. The news arrives with a new single, ‘Tear Gas,’ along with a mad scientist music video.
The English band have gained a loyal hard rock following since their emergence in 2004, having since recorded nine studio albums. True to their name, Architects have transformed into a metaphorical statue in the metalcore universe. And they still have the muscle for even more. Architects’ forthcoming record falls in line behind last year’s For Those That Wish To Exist.
The eleven track is produced by band members Dan Searle and Josh Middleton with extra production help from vocalist Sam Carter. Unlike their most recent album, which was formed remotely due to Covid restrictions, the band was able to come together in the studio to create their soon-to-be-heard sound.
The sonic effect is, “free, playful and spontaneous,” says Searle of the album characteristics.
So far, we’ve received two singles off the record: ‘When We Were Young’ and, now, ‘Tear Gas.’ The track arrives with a comedic music video poking fun at the very serious issue of global warming, which sees the Brighton quintet dressed up as mad scientists.
Following the release of The Classic Symptoms of A Broken Spirit, Architects head out to support Biffy Clyro this November for their UK & Ireland arena tour. They will make a stop at Dublin’s 3Arena on November 8 – you would be mad to miss it.
Tickets for Biffy Clyro and Architects are available here. Check out the new music video for ‘Tear Gas,’ available to stream on all platforms, and pre-save The Classic Symptoms of A Broken Spirit, due October 21.
