The frontman who fell to earth
Catch a falling star in the world television premiere of the video for new Frames single 'Headlong', on tonight's No Disco (N2, 11.15pm)
Following their positively celestial breathtaker of a Dublin Castle show, The Frames fall beautifully back down to earth this week via an animated promo for their new single, a re-recording of For The Birds album fave ‘Headlong’, released this Friday, May 10th. It’s from all-drawing, all-dancing, rapidly-becoming-quite-famous animation collective Del 9 - and it gets its world television premiere tonight on No Disco (N2, 11.15pm).
But there’s more than that to fall for: also cued up for tonight’s programme are the latest from darktronica producer DJ Shadow; a newie from Mundy’s lovely long-awaited 24 Star Hotel; snowflake-perfect Icelandic electronica from Mum; top-drawer Americana from Wilco, who are in the Dublin Ambassador tomorrow night; sundry promos for De La Soul, The Gentle People and Cornelius; and a second helping of Del 9 deliciousness, this time for capital-city indiers The Coldspoon Conspiracy.
Last but not least, some awesome and mind-boggling eighty-year-old-free-jazz-aliencore from the Sun Ra Arkestra (playing with the also-massive The Jimmy Cake this Sunday in the Red Box) will be coming atcha in this week’s Audio On. Nice.
