The founding member of the group has titled the memoirs Cured.
The memoirs of drummer and founding member of The Cure, Laurence "Lol" Tolhurst will be published in a new book in September. Cured will tell the story of his life with the band, their ups and downs as well as his lifelong friendship with guitarist and frontman Robert Smith.
The Cure were formed in Crawley, England by Tolhurst and Smith in 1976. Their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys was released in 1979.
The publication rights were bought at auction by London based independent publishing house, Quercus. Richard Milner is the publishing director for non-fiction at Quercus. He described the book as, "an affecting friendship memoir and a transportative account of what happens to a suburban 70s dreamer when he becomes a global pop star".
Cured will be released on September 22 2016.
