The Clockworks to support Pixies on US Tour
It's a busy year for the band who also have a new single in the works.
Originating from Galway, The Clockworks are supporting the iconic Pixies on a North American tour this September.
The band will play six shows with Pixies as well as making their US headline debut in the Mercury Lounge in New York City, and performing at Chicago's Riot Fest.
“We’re thrilled to be sharing the stage with one of our favourite bands,” says frontman James McGregor. “The fact it’s our first time in the States makes it all the sweeter."
The band's rise only continues, they have also released their new performance film Live at The Rio, directed by Oscar J Ryan, to coincide with this US tour.
The film, shot at The Rio in London, features The Clockworks performing in front of a backdrop of classic black-and-white film footage. Sparse lighting provides an understated cinematic edge, as the band make their way expertly through a set that includes 'The Futures Is Not What It Was', 'Bills and Pills', and 'Can I Speak to a Manager?' The film can be watched here.
The band also have a new single in the works, 'Throw It All Away', due for release on August 13. The song "adds shoegaze and classic Britpop elements to the band's post-punk attack", according to a press release.
