The Bell

With divine second album {Awayland} still topping the Irish Indie chart, Villagers release fourth single ‘The Bell’, a cleverly cinematic ode to the art of getting the thoughts that float about inside your head down on paper. The accompanying mini-film starts off like a regular performance video, before the song’s musical notes start to come to life right there in the Villagers rehearsal room. In the first minute or so, guitar lines become ginormous vibrating beams of light, electronic bleeps become an illustrated dripping tap and dramatic strings become animated columns… and it only gets trippier from there.
