The intellectual indie beat junkies uberlords return with what is, apparently, their last release.
The intellectual indie beat junkies uberlords return with what is, apparently, their last release. Say it ain’t so, because this album is a proper treasure. Those unfamilliar with clouddead’s output will find this in the ‘hip-hop’ section in their record stores, but that’s only half the story. The wildly innovative (and decidedly odd) music simply serves as a platform for the trio’s ‘raps’ – though putting them in the same vague category as someone like Ja Rule is just plain wrong. This is a form of ultra-modern beat poetry – in both senses of the phrase. What does it sound like? Er, They Might Be Giants getting it on with Boards Of Canada, carrying an Tr-808 and wearing a backpack and the correct Adidas shelltoes.Jaw-dropping.
