Tempting Fate
Guerilla act Spooky were the seminal progressive house band of the nineties.
Guerilla act Spooky were the seminal progressive house band of the nineties. Still sitting on the cutting edge, one half, Charlie May recently produced the Sasha/Emerson collaboration ‘Scorchio’ and the other, Duncan Forbes is responsible (along with Laurent Webb) for this quite incredible collection of experimental yet totally engaging soundscapes. Best described as mood music with dancefloor flavours; titles like ‘Calm’, ‘Shiver’, ‘Wreck’, ‘Angst’, ‘Wired’ and ‘Sympathy’, are a devilish assortment of techno, electro and progressive house tricks and coupled with some very memorable melodies ensure that this is one of the most absorbing albums around.
