Tamer Animals
Oklahoma natives deliver a second album that’ll give Fleet Foxes a run for their money.
Tamer Animals is the second full length offering from Stillwater five-piece Other Lives and it’s a sprawling, cinematic affair that soars with the best of them on tracks like the galloping ‘As I Lay My Head Down’ and ‘For 12.’ Beautifully produced and rich with orchestral flourishes, the 11 track opus will no doubt be adored by fans of Fleet Foxes, Kurt Vile and Kate Bush. The whiskey-soaked, wide-screen waltz that is ‘Old Statues’ is rich with textured harmonies and is worth the album’s asking price alone.
