Talk That Talk

If we were to take Jay’s self-imposed ban on using the word “bitch “ following the birth of his daughter seriously (I didn’t, and anyway it turned out to be a hilariously flimsy hoax), ‘Talk That Talk’ would have been the last recorded instance of Mr. Knowles cracking out the b-word; a fact that would surely have earned me a bottle of supermarket wine at a table quiz sometime in the future. Oh well. At least I have ‘Talk This Talk’, the third Rihanna and Jay collaboration (I’d name the others, but I’m serious about taking home that bottle of wine) to medicate myself with a typically harsh collection of drum cracks, techno beats and repetitive, plodding melody that slots perfectly into Ri-Ri’s back catalogue of same.
