Sylk to take the main stage at Whelan's this Thursday
Irish electronic duo will be performing as part of Whelan's Summer Watch festival
Dublin electronic duo, Sylk, will be playing Whelan’s on July 13 as part of their Summer Watch festival — four days of great new acts.
Formed in 2016, Sylk is already off to a fantastic start, having released their debut album in April and performed at Body & Soul this summer.
Bebhinn McDonnell (sound) and Taylor Doyle (vocals) are the young women behind the Sylk collective. Both are big believers in creating an experience at their shows, paying close attention to visual aspects such as lighting and projections.
The newest EP, Nwyr, booms ominous, experimental bass beats and whispers. The dark lyrics and gritty vocals from Doyle complement the distorted sound of the songs, while also lending the tracks a more intimate quality that keeps the album from veering towards angsty.
Catch them this Thursday, July 13 at Whelan’s main stage.
