As far removed from the cheesy snare roll excesses that currently dominate many big name DJs sets as possible, Superstition's newest compilation displays their ability to change, refine their sound and move with the times. Although there are a few hairs on the back of your neck moments most notably from LSG's 'Risin', Mijk Van Dijk's moody 'Bass On Canvas', the real highlights are Superstition's more adventurous releases, like Joel Mull's deep 'Midmelantonik' or the acidic tones of Holy Ghost's 'Twister'. The second disc embraces techno and house textures more wholeheartedly, favouring deep Detroit strings on Mijk Van Dijk's gloriously intricate 'After The Darkness', dubby techno on 'Push Thru' by Quazar and deep, minimal tech-house from Hakan Lidbo with 'Looking Good In Blue'. A prejudice shattering collection.
