Sun Comes Up Agian
Razorlight drummer shows unexpected melodic side
f the gossip-mongers of London Town are to be believed, former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows was the real brains behind their catchier moments, so it’s with great interest that we come to I Am Arrows, the tub-thumper’s first proper foray into life without Johnny Borrell. Essentially a love letter to America (and acts like The Shins and Elliott Smith) Sun Comes Up Again is a diverse and imaginative record that proves he really was wasted sitting behind a drumkit. ‘Nice Try’ and album opener ‘Nun’ are definite career highlights and Burrows’ understated voice on ‘Far Enough Away’ marks him out as a special artist in his own right.
