Stockholm Mix Sessions Volume 2
The second Sessions mix from Svek bod Dahlback proves that deep house isn't exclusively made for boring, obsessive spotty blokes in record company t-shirts.
The second Sessions mix from Svek bod Dahlback proves that deep house isn't exclusively made for boring, obsessive spotty blokes in record company t-shirts. Devoid of the filtered disco or the equally irritating noodle factor that dominate both extremes of modern house music, the selection here veers into the soulful, jazzy end of the sound, featuring laid back grooves that work at home as well as on the dancefloor. Opening with King Britt's inspirational bass heavy break beat remix of I:Cube, the mix Sessions 2 flows and grooves into the spiritual vocal house of Pascal' s 'Into A Dream', the resonating 'Atmosphrique' by Metro Area and the piano filled 'Ran Away' by Moonchildren. While Dahlback makes a brief foray into a more techno oriented sound with tracks from Luomo and Casey Hogan, his mix nonetheless retains a sophisticated feel, captured on the atmospheric 'Dune' from Next Evidence. Deeper than an audience with Sartre and groovier than a big pair of flares.
