Stephen Malkmus releases the first single from his upcoming album
The former Pavement frontman also shared the music video for ‘Viktor Borgia.’
Since playing Dublin’s Vicar Street last October as Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, which included Mike Clark, Joanna Bolme, and Jake Morris, the former Pavement frontman has decided to strike out by himself. Malkmus has announced that his upcoming album, Groove Denied, will be a solo affair.
Following last year’s critically acclaimed Sparkle Hard, the Californian musicians’ new electronic album is set to be released on March 15. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Malkmus claimed that he has been working on the solo project for almost 13 years, with most of the recording taking place in Oregon.
The album announcement was accompanied with a video for the new single ‘Viktor Borgia':
Groove Denied is available to pre-order now.
