Steers 'n' stripes forever?
In a near-surreal recent development, Ronan Keating is looking like cracking the American market via, wait for it, country music songwriting. Yee-ha, etc
He mightn't have made his mark there yet as a performer, but Ronan Keating is suddenly flavour of the week in U.S. songwriting circles thanks to Brookes & Dunne's cover of 'The Long Goodbye'.
Co-written with Paul Brady, the single – and the album it's taken from, Steers & Stripes – have both gone top 10 in the Billboard country charts.

Whether or not it's part of a concerted effort to woo Nashville remains to be seen, but Keating has confirmed that his own next single will be an update of Garth Brooks' 'If Tomorrow Never Comes'.
