Star-studded John Prine live album announced

John Prine's legendary and star-studded set at the 2017 Newport Folk Festival, which included Justin Vernon, Margo Price, Lucius, Roger Waters, Jim James and Nathaniel Rateliff has been recorded and will be pressed to vinyl.

The record, John Prine and Friends Live At Newport Folk 2017, is expected to ship in early October, 2021. The legendary set saw Prine perform 'Bruised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)' with Justin Vernon, 'In Spite of Ourselves' with Margo Price, and 'All the Best' with Jim James, closing the show with a group performance of 'Paradise'.

At the Grammy Awards a few weeks ago, Prine was posthumously awarded Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song.
