Spies set to play first gig in two years following new single ‘Young Dad’
Dublin-based band, Spies known for their blistering live performances, will play their first gig in two years. The five boys broke their two year-long silence with new single ‘Young Dad’.
Frontman Michael Broderick explains the reason for their disappearance - "We felt in order to write something we were really proud of, we needed to distance ourselves from the outside pressures of being in a band. It's easy to get distracted by all the things you think you should be doing and overlook that your primary objective should be to write great music”.
The band spent their first year of silence in the studio writing all new material. They took a break for the last year to enjoy and appreciate their success.
Their new music will be a change from their previous material with more of an electronic spin to it. Spies will be playing their first show in two years in Whelan’s upstairs on May 6.
