Sound Of Sky
Punctuated by jazzy riffs, female vocals and tasteful keys, it's a far cry from his usual Eno style sonic tapestries
Japanese producer Susumu Yokota releases on average three albums a year. Focusing primarily on an organic, contemplative and often sound track inspired ambient style, Yokota also occasionally releases house-based work.
Sound, his second album for Exceptional, documents the Japanese producer’s love of the New York style of house. Punctuated by jazzy riffs, female vocals and tasteful keys, it’s a far cry from his usual Eno style sonic tapestries, but it’s doubtful that fans of Yokota’s head nodding excursions will follow him down this MAW and Joe Clausell-inspired route.
