Sound Kapital
Absoult riot
Husband and wife duo Handsome Furs are on a quest to recapture the glory days of ‘80s-era European electronic music. However, they have never sounded as anthemic and utterly life-affirming as they do on Sound Kapital. Composed entirely on keyboards (a first for the band) sometime Wolf Parade man Dan Boeckner’s broken vocals have shades of Bowie and Iggy and are laced with pure attitude – especially on the throbbing riot of ‘Damage’ and album opener ‘When I Get Back.’ ‘Serve The People’ is a future classic in the making and boasts one of the best hooks you’ll hear all year, but pretty much every tune on the record is a triumph. Listen up.
