Sleep Alone
The highly marketable Two Door Cinema Club formula is a pretty tough one to fault, comprising dueling guitars, sprightly electronics and gentle vocals wrapped around some generally glorious, repetitive refrains. Taken from their second album Beacon, the nervously-awaited follow-up to chart-courting monster Tourist History, ‘Sleep Alone’ doesn’t stray too far from the T.D.C.C. blueprint, proudly boasting all of the aforementioned. The boys from Bangor have left themselves some wiggle-room though, as Kevin Baird trades his bass in for a synthesiser and the typically sizzling riffs are contrasted with a brief acoustic breakdown. More of the same? You betcha, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
