Sleater-Kinney 'Bury Our Friends' - Track Review

One of riot grrrl and alt rock in general’s greatest groups, the seminal Olympia trio have re-emerged from their near decade long hiatus. Armed with new single ‘Bury Our Friends’, it sounds like the ladies haven’t missed a beat despite the lay-off as the tune is heavily sprinkled with that marvellous magic that made this writer fall in love with them the first time round. Propelled by a righteous, anthemic chorus, the effort is a powerful number reminiscent of their Dig Me Out days and it’s a joy to listen to. “We’re wild and weary/But we won’t give in!” indeed.
