Slane concert cancelled
Lord Henry Mountcharles confirmed the Slane concert is cancelled.
Rumours of a Green Day/Pearl Jam Slane double-bill have proved to be just that, with Lord Henry Mountcharles officially confirming that there will be no concert there this year.
This follows on from 2005’s last minute cancellation by Eminem who pulled out citing “nervous exhaustion.”
“And this year it seems there’s no-one out there good enough for Slane’s majestic setting,” Lord Henry rues. “All the acts we have had belong to a pretty distinguished roll call but at the end of the day nothing really blew my bubbles.
“The venue can hold 80,000 and we put a great deal of care and attention into choosing acts. We didn’t consider there was an act out there suitable and available for the venue. We don’t want to put on a show for the sake of a show.”
