50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy, Karl Pilkington and lots more to look forward to
The fruits of a massive increase in investment will be clear to see when Sky1’s new programme lineup hits our screens over the next year.
Homemade drama and comedy will provide the backbone of the schedule the whole year round, with new shows including After Hours, starring Ardal O’Hanlon and directed by Craig Cash, and the previously announced You, Me And The Apocalypse, featuring Rob Lowe, Megan Mullally and Pauline Quirke.
Returning favourites include new series of Stella and Trollied, along with more from the fantastic Karl Pilkington in The Moaning Of Life. There’s also the prospect of The Muppets coming back to UK and Irish TV.
Ross Kemp and his team will be taking a look closer to home in Ross Kemp’s Britain, while imports include new series of The Flash and Arrow.
Director of Sky1 Adam MacDonald is beside himself with the new lineup, saying, "I'm so excited we can offer absolutely top-quality drama all year round and I love how brilliantly unique our comedies feel.”
“The range of original programming we have completely reflects what Sky 1 stands for - the very best of modern Britain and Ireland, and all the eclecticism, diversity and joy that implies. We know that some of the best family moments come from sitting around the TV and enjoying that time together, and we hope with this new line-up to create many more of those moments."
