Applications now open to find your Irish artist to follow in Kevin Gaffney's footsteps
Sky Academy Arts Scholarships are back, and €40,000 funding and mentoring to an Irish artist.
One talented 18-30 year old based in Ireland will be chosen, giving them the time, space and finances required to fulfil their potential.
Last year, visual artist Kevin Gaffney was the recipient of the award, and he'll be among those present at a briefing session at The Liquor Rooms next Wednesday, February 13, from 5-7pm, along with Sky Academy and Hiive representatives, as well as the Ambassador for the Irish application process, Kris Nelson, Director of Tiger Dublin Fringe.
There, prospective applicants will be guided through the application process, getting important tips and hints on how to stand out from the crowd.
This year's initiative is in conjunction with Business To Arts, and in partnership with Hiive. Hopefuls are invited to submit an idea for an artistic project under one of the following six categories: Music, Dance, Visual Art, Theatre and Comedy, Film Production and Creative Producing.
Applications are open now, with the winners announced at the South Bank Awards in June.
