The don't-call-them-gothic-rockers celebrate their 30th Anniversary Tour
English rock stalwarts Sisters of Mercy have announced they will play the Olympia Theatre later this year on November 11 as part of their 30th Anniversary Tour. The band haven't played in Ireland since the late 90's. Tickets priced from €33 including booking fee go on sale Friday April 8 at 9am.
Largely the artistic vehicle of lead singer Andrew Eldritch, the band reached their commercial apex in the late 80's and early 90's, garnering four Top 20 hits on these shores before legal battles with their then record company Time Warner derailed chances of further releases, with the band becoming only a touring-only entity since 1993. Bizarrely, even though the band play new material on tour they haven't signed to a label since.
