Simply Red to perform at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks this August
Tickets to see Simply Red from €75 including booking fee will be available from ticketmaster.ie or singularartists.ie.
Singular Artists has announced Wider Than Pictures - a series of unique and exciting events at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks this August. Simply Red will take part in the first show on Friday 26 August 2022, with tickets on sale this Friday, February 11th at 10am.
Simply Red have over a billion hits on YouTube, have sold over 60 million albums worldwide - five going to number one in the UK. Their 1991 classic Stars was the best-selling album for two years running inthe UK and Europe. Two US Billboard chart toppers include classic singles ‘Holding Back The Years’ and ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’.
Every Simply Red studio album has been a UK top ten, and Mick Hucknall has been the songwriter and bandleader since the beginning in 1985, aided since 1986 by long-serving saxophonist Ian Kirkham. The current line-up of Simply Red has remained consistent since 2003. The Manchester-founded soul and pop band originally signed to East West records and Elektra Records.
“I want them to enjoy playing, for crowds to get up and move around, and everybody to put their heart into it. It’s all about capturing the groove”, says Hucknall. “I’ve spent most of my life going out and singing for people, and it has felt strange not to have that for such a long time. It’s wonderfully inspiriting that people can go and see bands again now, and I can’t wait to get back on stage.”
Simply Red released a new single, ‘Earth In A Lonely Space,’ last May. It marked the band’s first release since their acclaimed 2019 album Blue Eyed Soul. The video for the single, directed and animated by Cine1080, was also released today, and features a spacecraft travelling through the galaxy looking for signs of life.
Tickets for Simply Red at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks go on sale on February 11 from ticketmaster.ie or singularartists.ie. Tickets are being sold for €75, including booking fee.
