Silver Threats
Belgian newcomers channel noel and liam
The Gallaghers’ infamous bust-up has left a bit of a void in the lad rock world. While the likes of Kasabian and The Courteeners are all jostling to be crowned princes of the genre, it leaves room for newer acts to mark out their territory and Belgium’s The Black Box Revelation are worthy contenders, if Silver Threats is anything to go by. A swaggering record from start to finish, the two-piece are a little more visceral than their peers (‘Run Wild,’ ‘High On A Wire’) and they sound all the better for it. Taking a ballsy, bluesy approach, the record is perfect fodder for the weekend’s partying: those of you who are still mad for it after all these years will find plenty of treats on offer.
