It's the first new music she's released since last year's Remind Me Tomorrow.
Sharon Van Etten is back with a new song called 'Beaten Down,' accompanied by a cinematic music video.
The song is backed by menacing and powerful bass, mixing rock music with electronic elements. It's a craft she's mastered, especially on her most recent album Remind Me Tomorrow. Van Etten writes on Twitter: "This song is about love, patience and empathy. It’s about making life-changing choices and remaining strong enough to see them through."
'Beaten Down' is her first new music since the phenomenal Remind Me Tomorrow last January, a deeply personal record written after a period of massive life changes. Revisit Hot Press' glowing review here.
