Sharon Corr takes to the airwaves this evening to kick off a new series exploring the foundations, influences and global impact of Irish music.
The Origins And Roots Of Irish Music will see the singer-songwriter and violinist talking to key individuals responsible for taking music from her native land to the masses, as well as playing tracks that shaped her career as part of the Corrs and as a solo artist.
The first programme airs tonight at 10pm on BBC Radio 2.
