Self Machine

Usually I'd feel bad harping on about a musician's overachieving parents. However, Coco Sumner sounds so much like her Pop, there's really nothing for it but to get it all out in the open - the girl's a 19-year-old Sting, hiked up an octave. Phew. Now don't we all feel better? Aside from the unfortunate mental image of Daddy Sumner in a mini-skirt and Dr. Martens, 'Self Machine' is a layered-up nugget of electro-pop gold, riding on a clever and rather touching premise.
