Sea Inside Body
An unusual collection of electronica is sweetness and light rather than moody darkness.
Written and recorded on a laptop, ‘Sea’ is still every bit as complex as Boards Of Canada or the intricate work of label boss Depth Charge. Indeed, on Kel McKeown’s debut album, the beats are just as intricate and splintered as J Saul Kane’s rhythm re-invention. ‘Ice Cream Knife Handle’ and ‘Sickly Situation’ boast child-like melodies over stop-start beats and, though there are a few austere moments, the overall feeling on this unusual collection of electronica is sweetness and light rather than moody darkness.
