Scullion set for two more Sugar Club shows
The Sugar Club will run two more ‘Down in the City’ events following the success of its first edition.
Scullion are the resident band for the event and will be performing at the final two events after a successful show last month at the inaugural ‘Down in the City’.
The 2nd instalment of the series will take place on Sunday 20 May. Scullion will be joined by folk duo Saint Sister, who have just released their new single ‘Twin Peaks’.
Multi-award winning Irish writer Joseph O’Connor makes up the rest of the line-up for the second show. He will be reading excerpts from his previous works as well presenting new material.
17 June will mark the final ‘Down in the City’ event in The Sugar Club when
Dublin-born fiddle player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh will be performing with Scullion. Ye Vagabonds, another folk duo, are also part of the line-up.
‘Down in the City’ was curated by Sonny Condell, Philip King and Robbie Overson to provide an evening of music and literature every month which features some of Ireland’s most exciting folk and traditional acts.
Tickets for each event cost €25 and are available from http://www.thesugarclub.com/
