For about seven months now, Wicklow-based programming marvel Ross O’Sullivan has been releasing razor-sharp electro-hop remixes and originals under the name Monto. Alright, so it’s not the most memorable of aliases, but once you’ve wrapped your ears around his blissed-out, groove-led tunes, you’re not likely to forget them. ‘SCKRPNCH’ is the latest original to be made available for free download, and it’s absolutely glorious – a playful mix of jungle percussion and ambient distortion. While you’re bopping around your bedroom/kitchen/place of business to this one, why not download a couple more freebies? ‘Charlie’ comes highly recommended, as does Monto’s remix of Nas’ ‘The World Is Yours’.
