Safe And Sound
She’ll surely go down in history as the most boring chart superstar of all time, but, against my deepest wishes, on this occasion I have to give Taylor Swift her due credit. Far from the girlish, swooning fare on her three records, ‘Safe And Sound’, recorded for upcoming sci-fi drama The Hunger Games and co-written by Nashville folk duo The Civil Wars, is a sweet and sophisticated ditty, complete with a knock-out vocal from Taylor and her Tennessee collaborators. Play it for your snobbish friends along with a track from new indie darlings on the block, The Staves, and see if they can tell the difference.
