Rory Sweeney announces Dublin gig
Tickets are on sale now.
Rory Sweeney has announced he will perform at Yamamori Tengu in Dublin on Friday, December 5.
The electronic producer released his latest album Old Earth to Bandcamp last month. The project includes features from artists such as Róis, Curtisy, EMBY and Emily Beattie. The record was created over five years, written between Dublin, Sligo, Letterkenny, and Manchester and is the follow up to his 2022 debut album Trash Catalogue.
Old Earth recently reached #18 on the Irish Independent Music Charts. On a post to social media, he acknowledged the success of the album, noting his choice to not release the record to Spotify.
"Everyone above and below us on the charts there has hundreds of thousands, if not millions to spend on PR, especially the legacy records, which are the focus of the music industry as of late," he said in the post.
"We're in the charts exclusively through vinyl sales as well, whereas everyone else is there through digital download and Spotify streams.
"No label, no money, anti-Spotify campaign."
Tickets for the Dublin gig are on sale now and can be found here.
