Grandaddies of classic trad The Chieftains to receive lifetime achievement award from BBC Radio 2
The Chieftains are to receive a 'Lifetime Achievement' Award as part of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2002.
Taking place tonight (Monday February 11th) in London's Marriott Hotel, the nominees in the other categories include The Richard Thompson Band, Loudon Wainwright III, Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson, Kate Rusby, Cherish The Ladies, Slainte Mhath and Cara Dillon.

Airing live on the station between 8 and 9.30pm, the awards will also include Cerys Mathhews' first live performance since the split of Catatonia.
