Hession's debut novel, Leonard and Hungry Paul, is this year's One Dublin One Book choice.
Rónán Hession, also known as Dublin musician Mumblin' Deaf Ro, is set to feature in a free online event this Friday, April 16, in conversation with writer, music promoter and presenter Leagues O'Toole. Hession, whose debut novel, Leonard and Hungry Paul, was announced as the 2021 choice for One Dublin One Book, will be discussing his transition from songwriting to novel writing, and the power of music as a source of inspiration.
Before launching his career as a novelist, Hession performed and recorded as Mumblin' Deaf Ro. His latest album, 2012's Dictionary Crimes, was nominated for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year. His highly anticipated second novel, Panenka, will be published next month.
As part of Friday's virtual event, Hession will also be performing songs from across his three albums.
