Republic of Loose's Cc Brez shares the first single from KnowHow, his new R&B group
The new group, made up of Cc Brez and Jesse John Heffernan, have released their debut single, 'Real Love'.
Cc Brez, best known for his work as the producer, arranger and guitarist behind Republic of Loose, has joined forces with singer-songwriter Jesse John Heffernan, to form a new R&B group, KnowHow.
Heffernan, who previously worked with hip-hop collective The Animator, released his own debut soul record, Late Night Attention, last year, and had supported Brez at previous shows. The pair teamed up a year ago, and soon began collaborating on new music.
Their debut single, 'Real Love', incorporates elements of future-jazz and pop, in a style inspired by contemporary acts like Vulfpeck, Hiatus Kaiyote, Snarky Puppy and Thundercat, as well as the soulful sounds of Stevie Wonder. The track was written by Heffernan and produced by Brez.
Look out for more tracks from KnowHow arriving over the summer, as well as an EP towards the end of the year.
'Real Love' is available to stream now.
