Ray LaMontagne releases new single 'Long Way Home'
The track is the second off the folk singer's upcoming album
Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne has released a new single ‘Long Way Home’, the latest from his upcoming album of the same name.
The track follows the first release off the LP, ‘Step Into Your Power’ which released earlier this month. The highly anticipated project is out, in full, on August 16.
The song’s sombre lyrics and acoustic instruments is in line with the central theme of the record, which explores the folk singer’s youth.
Long Way Home will be LaMontagne’s 9th LP since his debut in 2004. A highly independent artist, the album will be released by his newly created label Liula Records.
Recorded at his home studio in Western Massachusetts, the track was co-produced by Seth Kauffman, who’s previously collaborated with Lana Del Ray.
The project takes inspiration from a Townes Van Zandt performance that LaMontagne saw as a 21-year-old.
“It took me nine songs to express what Townes managed to say in one line”, said LaMontagne. “I guess I still got a lot to learn.”
