Ralph Rolle nominated for Best Live Session Drummer of the Year
New York drummer Ralph Rolle among those nominated for Rhythm Magazine live session drummer of the year for his work with Nile Rodgers and Chic.
New York drummer Ralph Rolle has worked with the best in the business. Best known as drummer for Nile Rodgers and Chic, Rolle has played with the late Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Bono, Slash and John Legend - just to name a few. Now Rolle has been nominated for the Rhythm Magazine best live session drummer of 2018.
The musician took to Twitter saying his is "honoured to be included for his work" with Nile Rodgers and Chic.

Rhythm outlined the importance of the drummer in live sessions, stating "often on gigs of this scale, drummers also take on the role of Musical Director, responsible for piecing the band together and working closely with the artist to ensure the fans leave happy."
Gerry Morgan was the 2017 winner, who had worked with Niall Horan. Morgan has been nominated again this year for his work with James Bay. Others nominated include Daisy Palmer (Paloma Faith), Tony Royster Jr (Katy Perry) and Jonathon Ginger Hamilton (Sam Smith).
