PREMIERE: VJ Jaxson shares music video for 'Red Pill'
VJ Jaxson's debut EP, 'Finding Myself', will be out on June 25, 2021.
VJ Jaxson has returned after a two year hiatus, unveiling the cinematic video for his latest single, 'Red Pill'. The track comes ahead of the release of Jaxson's Finding Myself EP. The independent artist was actively gigging around the Irish scene, but took a break after being hit with a bout of depression.
Behind the scenes, VJ was dealing with the struggles of being an independent artist and “chasing the dream,” while working a full-time job and living at home with a full house.
He found it difficult to stay motivated in a world that isn’t kind to independent musicians, but after stepping off the stage for a brief period, the Dubliner turned to his faith to help find a drive, and self-belief. His forthcoming EP is dedicated to the tough times, but Jaxson meets the darkness with light.
Back with a different view of success and the creative process, the Dublin-based multi-instrumentalist mixes visceral lyrics with upbeat pop and classic R&B sounds. On 'Red Pill' – a track about falling in love – the singer-songwriter attempts to find positive outcomes from negative situations.
